Spokane, Wash.-based Cochrane & Co., a managing general agency, has announced the opening of their Southern California branch in Brea, Calif. Cochrane & Company is a regional, multi-line wholesale broker offering specialty and surplus lines since 1960.
The California branch office officially open for business in August 2007 with Jim Jeffords and Dean McNicol running the Transportation Division. Jeffords has more than 40 years of experience and McNicol has more than 20 years experience in transportation.
In January 2008, Cochrane & Co. hired Esthela Mejia to handle the property and casualty business in its Brea, Calif., office. Mejia has 10-plus years of experience in insurance. Then in February, Tracy McNicol also joined the Brea office. Tracy has more than 22 years of insurance experience and is responsible for marketing and underwriting. The underwriting staff is supported by Christina Patterson in the customer service department.
Through its two offices, Cochrane & Co. offers small, medium and large property/casualty, commercial transportation, personal lines, garage, professional liability, surety and national programs. Currently the company is licensed in 14 western states, and services more than 1,400 retail insurance agents.
