SUA Insurance Co. is now offering property/casualty insurance coverage to select customer groups in Hawaii, including general artisan contractors, roofing contractors, towing and recovery, trucking and transportation, and workers’ compensation, according to the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Insurance Division.
“Offerings for insurance coverage in the specialty market have traditionally been slim,” said state Insurance Commissioner J.P. Schmidt. “We are consistently working hard to bring additional insurance capacity to Hawaii residents. … The addition of SUA will bring more choices in coverage for building, transportation and other industries in our state.”
SUA, based in Chicago, is a subsidiary of Specialty Underwriters’ Alliance Inc. SUA holds a secure category rating of “B+” from A.M. Best, the DCCA said.
