George to Chair Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

AAA Northern California, Nevada and Utah announced that Steve George has been elected as the new chairman of the board of directors for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. George is the executive vice president of insurance services at the California State Auto Group, a major provider of AAA-branded insurance in 23 states and the District of Columbia.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing deaths, injuries, and property damage that result from crashes on the nation’s roads. AAA has been dedicated to improving traffic safety on our nation’s roads since it was founded more than 100 years ago.

In his role as executive vice president of insurance services, George is responsible for delivering a portfolio of relevant and competitive insurance products and services to nearly 15 million AAA members in states across the country, including members in Northern California, Nevada and Utah. Prior to joining AAA, George served as senior vice president for property and casualty underwriting at USAA and worked at Nationwide Insurance for 21 years.

In addition to IIHS, George serves on the boards of directors of AAA Life Insurance Co., Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety, and the board of governors for Property Casualty Insurance Association.
