    Burkey says:
    Like or Dislike:
    Thumb up 0
    Thumb down 0

“In a statement, NRC spokesman Victor Dricks said the company informed the agency of the steam generator design changes “in accordance with NRC requirements,” and that portions of the design were reviewed by federal inspectors during the installation. He added that a team of investigators is reviewing those changes as part of its probe into tube wear at the plant.”

Then it should be no problem to produce the documentation as Senator Boxer has requested.

It’s also not entirely clear that tube problems in Reactor 2 were only discovered after the tube blew at Reactor 3. Reactor 2 was offline for maintenance. It’s hard to believe no one would notice this kind of extreme wear during maintenance.

And if they did discover the tube problem in Reactor 2 before the tube in Reactor 3 blew, that is a serious breach of trust indeed.

As a resident taxpayer in Southern California I can only thank Boxer and wonder about the silence of our other lawmakers.
