A weekend snowstorm that dropped as much as 18 inches of snow on the Wasatch Front is being blamed for more than 100 car accidents.
The Utah Highway Patrol reported 117 property damage crashes in Salt Lake, Utah, Davis and Weber counties between 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Troopers say there were 26 injury crashes during that time frame.
Authorities say drivers should slow down during wintery weather, keep more distance between their vehicle and others, and wear a seatbelt.
Troopers also remind drivers to get off the freeway after a fender bender if their car is still drivable. The new law aims at keeping motorists and officers safely away from traffic after collisions.
