Fairly certain that intentional acts are not covered under any circumstance. Boy, he is really gonna be mad when he is responsible for all of the damages.
I’m not sure I can relate to this guy. The man who a couple of years ago in Fargo North Dakota (must be something in the air in those cold weather states) who flattened a Verizon Kiosk with his car after he found about about the fee for the early termination of service, changes to the contract charges and monsterous over the minute limit rates – I could relate to that person.
I can kind of understand the frustration. Insurance has put a roof over my head for 30+ years.
But…
I had a single car accident 2 years ago (under $2,500 – my car was the ONLY damage and no BI). Between the accident and my next annual renewal I refied my house.
At renewal, my auto rates almost doubled due to the accident (first in almost 20 years) and the fact that the refi caused my credit score to dip. How sad is that???
I sure was angry. Didn’t run into any buildings but nonetheless….
Serves them right. You raise my premiums and I would do the same. This guy did right by standing up to this government oriented scam we call insurance!
We know this guy, had a bad leg injury from a prior claim a few years ago, has never been the same since. He was a rational person before his injury. The agency had nothing to do with him or his prior loss. Sad story if you knew the preceeding 2-3 years of this man’s life. Since he was not DUI, he will get almost no jail time. His auto insurer will still have to pay the $10k state min PD due to MT case law, even with the intentional act exclusion. At least he did not hit our nearby office!
I don’t think his policy will cover this.
he’ll probably get a suspended sentence and only made to reimburse court costs, and not the full amount of the damages.
Damn! And I thought I had a temper…
I wonder if his medical INSURANCE or car INSURANCE will foot the bill for his tantrum.
The Car insurance carrier most likely will deny liability under the intenional act exclusion.
I sure would hate to be the hospital representative who had to go ask him who his health insurance carrier is!!

I wonder he is going to do when he gets the coverage denial letter from his insurance company for “intenional act”
Nothing says intent quite like backing up 85 feet and going for round two.

Maybe is was just trying to pay his premiums at a “drive up” & his frustration was that he wasn’t paying enough! (I know it’s Friday!)

Thanks for the insight, Missoula. Perception is reality and it can change.
