ABD Insurance Adds Life Sciences Portal, Clinical Trial Coverage

San Mateo, Calif.-based ABD Insurance and Financial Services (ABD) announced new insurance and technology offerings in its Life Science Practice: a client portal and Clinical Trial Pac coverage.

Life science companies require a range of expertise in insurance, primarily around product liability and clinical trials, and they want real-time access to information that allows them to manage insurance and risk management functions within their organizations. ABD says its Client Portal helps them accomplish these objectives, creating a single source of information across all lines of business in a secure, cloud-based platform.

The portal can be accessed on any browser or operating system, and gives clients the ability to store, share, upload and download documents – no matter where they are. The portal also provides access to worldwide clinical trials information and quotes, claim updates, insurance certificates and auto ID cards, and policy specifics.

The Client Portal includes ABD’s proprietary Clinical Trial Insurance Platform, and is available 24/7 from anywhere in the world. The landing page dashboard shows snapshots of recent country-specific insurance updates, among other features. Clients can review country-specific insurance requirements by clicking on an interactive country map by region.

ABD’s second offering, Clinical Trial Pac coverage, is a proprietary clinical trial solution that affords clinical trial stage companies a comprehensive Product Liability/Clinical Trials insurance program. This program includes a suite of new endorsements, and differs from more traditional insurance programs in that it offers several important coverage grants not currently available to clinical stage companies.
