California has been mismanaging their timber and brush for a very long time and Homeowners are also to blame so no wonder they burn down every other year. Why would a HO carrier continue to offer coverage in many of these areas? It is stupid to say the least.
Nickolai Fire 6 river n f still burning crews are getting hazer pay and gets what the fire is not binning fought ,this fire wood only Ben 500 arcs but for 2 month 1000 people on this fire , all i could see is a new road belt and now crews are cheeping the wast nice under story burn , 13 millions dollars spent rebidding a road and close axises to the firefighter and the public and here that how its going be let it burn fix the roads and close sub stander roads ended up burning 7000 acre and forest not done yet
In most forested areas the window of opportunity to allow fires to burn has closed. Far too much fuel has accumulated. A fire hot enough to consume this fuel would also kill the trees. After a forest fire far more dead fuel is created than consumed and the second, inevitable, fire is more damaging than the first because many dead trees fall forming a bed of fuel directly on the forest floor. Without treatment, he next fire always burns more intensely increasing the damage to soils and watershed. The fuel load must be reduced before fire can be allowed to take its important place in the environment. The natural decomposition is far slower than the bioaccumulation rate. Also the CO2 output of decay is the same as from wildfire, just less spectacular.

Keith, you make a lot of sense. It is too bad the people in charge don’t heed your words. Soon, there may not be a viable Homeowners market in California. They may have to create a Pool to get coverage at very high rates and much higher deductibles.
