We are seeking a contract lawyer to join the WTW legal team. The candidate will provide general contracting support to the WTW Global Contracting Team, with an emphasis on contracting within the Benefits Delivery and Outsourcing businesses. The role is expected to work closely with other stakeholders in the contracting process, including members of the WTW business team and other lawyers in the Global Contracting Team and the Benefits Delivery & Outsourcing (BD&O) legal group. The role will report to the Assistant General Counsel for BD&O.

The candidate must be comfortable working independently and directly with cross-functional internal business teams and external parties to handle commercial contracts, as well as a variety of other corporate and commercial matters. The candidate must be effective in providing necessary advice and counseling internal clients in an efficient and solutions-oriented, commercial-friendly way. The successful candidate is preferred to work in a hybrid remote-office environment located in Arlington, VA, New York, NY, Philadelphia, PA, or Nashville, TN but exceptional candidates in other US locations will be considered for a remote work arrangement.

The Role

  • Draft, review and negotiate a range of contract types, including services agreements, insurance agreements, benefits administration agreements, business associate agreements, confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements, and vendor agreements.
  • Rapidly assess potential legal risks, benefits and consequences of decisions, present alternatives and propose solutions to achieve business objectives while skillfully managing legal and practical business considerations.
  • Provide daily contract support and lead coordination and partnership with cross functional teams to achieve business objectives and leverage strong organizational and task efficiency skills meet contract targets and deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals (e.g., RFP responses) to prospective clients.
  • Escalate issues to management as necessary.


The Requirements
  • JD from an accredited institution; admitted and in good standing to practice law in at least one state.
  • Five or more years of commercial contracting experience.
  • Strong legal contracting background.
  • Excellent judgment and integrity with the ability to think strategically and give timely, effective, and practical general corporate and commercial legal advice.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, including in work-from-home environments.
  • Ability to work and communicate with colleagues and business clients in a professional, ethical, and positive manner as a team player.
  • Insurance, health insurance, employee benefits, Medicare, financial, privacy and/or regulatory background a plus but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

Compensation
The salary compensation range being offered for this role is $130,000.00 to $140,000.00. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
