Privacy and Security Coverage Enhancements

Nuts & Bolts: Euclid Managers LLC developed a set of security and privacy coverage enhancements that can be endorsed onto any of the Euclid Managers’ Internet and tech professional liability policies. The endorsements expand the current coverage offering of errors and omissions, content (including copyright and trademark infringement), security, personal injury and privacy coverages already contemplated by the basic Internet and tech forms. The enhancements include protection for laptop theft, privacy regulatory actions, and privacy notification and crisis management expenses. Coverage is available nationwide, and the insured has the option to purchase a portion of or all of the new protections.

Dollars: Up to $5 million.

Accountants Errors & Omissions

Nuts & Bolts: Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Inc.’s Professional Liability Division offers online quotes on Arrowhead Exchange for its accountants’ errors & omissions program. The target market is small to medium private accounting firms (1 to 50 professionals), including certified public accountants, public accountants, enrolled agents, tax preparers, bookkeepers and other accounting professionals. Arrowhead is the program administrator for Twin City Fire Insurance Co., a subsidiary of The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. Arrowhead Exchange offers an automated application process that is designed to enable producers to quickly obtain premium indications and online quotations.

Dollars: Limits start at $100,000 to $5 million.

Contractors’ Property and Inland Marine

Nuts & Bolts: AmCom Insurance Services Inc. in San Ramon, Calif., is offering contractor’s property and inland marine coverage in California to compliment the existing, preferred commercial auto program. The program is being marketed through select brokers.

Dollars: Minimum premium is $500. Deductibles are $500 to $2500.

Carrier: Coverage is being offered by an admitted carrier rated “A-” IX by A.M. Best.

Tech Firms

Nuts & Bolts: The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. has expanded the policy limits available to customers from $1 million to $2 million on The Hartford’s FailSafe MEGA product, professional liability coverage designed for smaller technology firms and offered through the company’s Technology Practice Group. The Hartford’s Technology Practice Group serves all types of technology clients, from startups to established market leaders. When purchased with the The Hartford’s Spectrum business owners’ policy, FailSafe MEGA creates a program designed for smaller tech firms.

Dollars: $1 million to $2 million. Minimum premium is $800.

States: All except Hawaii.

Commercial Marine

Nuts & Bolts: Commercial marine, including worldwide ocean cargo, cargo legal liability, hull and P&I, and vessel builder’s risk is available from PointSure Insurance Services. Policies are available for all types of cargos worldwide, including tug and barge, and supply and utility boats.

Dollars: Unlimited. Minimum deductible is $1,000.

Carrier: Two carriers available. Both rated “A” XV by A.M. Best.

States: All except Alaska.

National Mining Program

Nuts & Bolts: Casualty & Surety Inc. has been granted underwriting authority for a new national mining program. The company can write coverage for general liability, auto, property and inland marine. CSI also can write employers’ liability, umbrella liability, and workers’ compensation. The program is available in all 50 states and to all types of mining companies, including coal, aggregates and hard rock, mining for both surface and underground operations, as well as various processing facilities.

Dollars: $1 million to $2 million. On the property side, coverage can be written up to $10 million per location.

States: All.

Carrier: Rated “A” FSC XV by A.M. Best. Admitted and non-admitted.

E&O Insurance Agents

Nuts & Bolts: The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) has a market for insurance agents’ errors and omissions insurance through Lloyd’s, London, using Lighthouse Underwriters LLC (a member company of U.S. Risk Insurance Group Inc.) as the preferred E&S broker for this coverage. The facility uses six syndicates for primary coverage and six for excess. In addition to placement through PIA National, applications will be accepted through many PIA affiliates for virtually any size and type of agency with the exception of managing general agents and wholesalers.

Dollars: Coverage limits range from $1 million/$1 million to $5 million/$5million

Carrier: Lloyds of London, rated “A” by A.M. Best. Non-admitted.

States: All.
