Antique Home Insurance

Comprehensive coverage (similar to a high value home policy) for pre-1930 homes with coverage at $250,000 to $5 million. Endorsed by a historical trust. Allied Health care
Nuts & Bolts: Travis-Pedersen Associates, Inc. is now offering a policy that covers a broad range of medical malpractice and general liability exposures. Allied health care facilities are those businesses that provide medical services directly to a patient or client and are ancillary to physician and hospital care. Included in this group are home health care agencies, supplemental medical staffing, hospices, dialysis centers, medical testing laboratories, substance abuse rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation facilities for the impaired.

Errors & Omissions
Nuts & Bolts: Swiss Re launched a non-admitted errors and omissions coverage for the members of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA with unique operations and special needs where coverage customization is critical, including larger agencies with expanded product offerings or with unusual ownership structures, agencies specializing in higher-hazard coverages (such as wet marine or long-haul trucking), and less experienced agencies and even agencies with significant losses are aggressively being pursued. Policies are underwritten and claims handled by the same Swiss Re team that services the Big I’s admitted program. Deductibles start as low as $5,000.

Stand-Alone Windstorm
Nuts & Bolts: Burns & Wilcox now offers primary or excess when windpool is just not enough. Property values have doubled overnight. Minimum premium is $1,000; maximum premium is $1 million.

Security Guards
Nuts & Bolts: Brownyard Group’s program for security guard firms has been expanded to include limits up to $5 million. Brownyard provides broad coverage, which includes: general liability, excess/umbrella liability, workers’ compensation, property, auto and first and third party dishonesty coverage. It is underwritten by Arch Insurance Group and distributed solely through independent insurance agents. Non-admitted in all states except New York.

Horse Mortality, Major Medical
Nuts & Bolts: Equestrian Insurance Group now offers a horse mortality policy that insures a horse against death or injury from almost any cause. Major medical endorsement covers up to $7,500 or $10,000 of reasonable and customary veterinary, medical and surgical care charges necessitated by accident, injury or illness. A $300 deductible for each separate claim. Diagnostics for non-surgical lameness will be covered for up to $1,000 per occurrence. Humane destruction is covered under the policy but economic destruction is not. This policy is unique as the basic form includes coverage for theft and colic surgery at no additional cost.
