Not to diminish the concern for all the victims of the Katrina disaster but, I wish I could talk to this guy to explain to him that the real disaster in NH is the inadequacy of school funding in this state. The state constitution says it is the state’s responsibility to provide for an adequate education for all students. The legislature has continually fought that constitutional directive. They never fully funded the Augenblick formula which came about the last time this argument was fought. And they have created a war between the property-rich and property-poor towns by relying almost entirely on local property taxes for school funding. More they should pay more attention to the natural disaster occuring each day that is the public school system in NH, than the possibility of a natural disaster that might not ever see New England.
