This sounds suspicioulsy like a bill of attainder, which I thought was against the U.S. Constitution…

I don\’t know where you are, Chris, but here in MD, this is just as ugly as it sounds. You should hear the radio ads. This bill has absolutely NOTHING to do with health insurance for poor oppressed employees and EVERYTHING to do with the fact that the Democratic majority here can\’t stand the fact that Wal-Mart has successfully resisted the unions, which control almost everything else here. Oddly enough, the unions have been quiet on this one. Also, it doesn\’t help that Gov. Ehrlich is a Republican.

    Rob,

I currently live in Houston, TX (a right to work state), but was raised in Bowie back in the 60\’s/early 70\’s.

I remember the politics that gave MD a Governor and Lt. Governor from opposing parties; as well as the Governor\’s race fiasco that gave MD, and then the USA, Spiro T. Agnew. At least we had the Colts to root for back then…
