Next, you\’ll need a state license to exist. Prior to obtaining that license, you\’ll need to provide proof of health insurance coverage, your bank account #, proof that you\’ve tried being gay at least once, (don\’t wnat to be judgemental!), show intent to vote for the incumbents.

Since we have become a lazy electorate, we are getting Mr Orwell\’s not-so-benevolent nanny state. In NYC, Bloomberg is doing all he can to direct others how to live. (Can\’t smoke, fart or eat in restaurants.)

Proud to live in the old USA where great people have fought and died for our freedom, and we now do what we can to take it away. What a shame…

Okay….you have no problem with people being required to purchase auto insurance, but not health insurance? How is it not \”socialism\” to require education, or vaccinations, or a photo ID?

All the evils of \”socialism\” are already here in the form of managed care. Our current system is far more onerous than any universal care model implemented in states like Massachusetts or proposed in any other. And we get far worse results than any other country\’s universal health care system, with 17% uninsured.

If you knew anything about the issue, you would realize that NJ\’s universal care model is now being proposed in most states for one simple reason……the private sector wants it. Companies are tired of paying exorbitant costs for employee healthcare.

Government should stay out of actual markets that work (not to mention social issues.) However, there is no free market for health care. You can\’t shop around for the best price when your kid breaks his or her arm–so there is no way to keep government out. In this case, it is a necessary evil.

    Mark,

I appreciate the rational writing. So many times this forum gets like so many of the other web forums.

I do not equate mandatory auto insurance with health insurance. Auto insurance, if you forget the physical damage coverages, is for third party liability. When I damage your property or you body. Health Insurance is first party. A funding transfer, if you will.

I do believe that there should be a base level of coverage for everyone. Perhaps a modification of Medicare. I would not want to include all the \”bells and whistles\”. That should be the province of individual choice. But, there should be a personal responsibility attached to the Medicare-type benefit. Similar to the enrollment in Social Security being a qualification.

Lastly, our elected official should NEVER receive any health care benefit in excess of those received by the least of us. And, they should be required to pay for it.

This step towards the Health Insurance Reform would pave the way for a better Health atmosphere amongst the New Jersians and your move would be a good precedent in the entire United States Country and not only in this country but probably all over the world. This country is always been noted for being pioneer in any of the good achievements. More Power to you all!

How much does NJ want the average working class to leave. Not only that, but forcing Health Insurance on people is tyrannical. NJ is turning into a dictatorship, I’ll be glad when my husband retires and we can get outta this beautiful, yet poorly run and corrupt state.
