Why should tax payers pay his bills???? He should pay them….
    No seat belt
Driver, who is former state trooper, going 92 miles an hour
Driver working blackberry at the same time he was doing 92mph!
As usual, elected officials are above it all. No tickets issued to anyone! If it were you and I, we would be behind bars.
Whne are we all going to wake up and hold these elected officials accountable?

I guess we touched a sore spot,Bruno. Your poison pen comments have proved my point!

Would you prefer that Governor Corzine use his state health plan benefits to pay his medical expenses? Would you rather that he \”buy\” his elective offices with someone else\’s money instead of his own? Do you really want him to owe \”favors\” instead of giving his best effort to the common good of all New Jersey residents? Why do I suspect that you will not even consider that Governor Corzine MAY be an honorable man?

It must be miserable to be so politically prejudiced that you view everything with such a jaundiced eye! Maybe you should try to be more open-minded…for your own well being.

My head is not \”empty,\” and I am neither a \”liberal\” nor a \”conservative.\” Rather I consider myself \”reasonable\” and try to evaluate each issue on its own merit. Why not give it a try…again, for your own well being?

What about the fine for not wearing his seatbelt and will they press wreckless driving charges for doing 90 in a 65mph zone???

I asked last week on this blog about who was paying the cost of this deal – sounds like the gov felt a little heat. wouldn\’t be surprised if somebody still gets a ticket.

His chauffeur was a state cop who, I guess, would say that he was only following orders speed-wise. But he is also responsible, as the operator of the vehicle, for unbelted passengers.

Typical liberal, \”Do as I say not as I do.\”

Will the Gov also forego filing an auto liability suit against the driver of his SUV getting his med bills and them some from the taxpayers?

Like most politicians, especially democrats, we will never know the truth that he actually pays his own expenses or collects it from an insurance carrier or lawsuit. It wouldn’t surprise anyone that he files a lawsuit against the other driver or the firm that designed, built, or maintained the road.

I agree 100% with bulldogg—he should have to pay a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt.. If he had been anyone else, you can bet they would have gotten a ticket! But I would also bet that the reason he is paying all his medical bills is because he doesn\’t want anyone to have access to his medical records.

\”Politically poisoned minds\”? I think it is rather that we have a grasp of the obvious and don\’t mind voicing our thoughts. That\’s wrong…. how?

If you need it spelled out to you: liberals like Corzine want to tell everyone else how to live (seat belt laws etc) then don\’t obey the rules. Liberals want to \”protect the envrionment\” then drive an SUV 90 mph for no particular reason. This doesn\’t raise any alarms in your empty head?

Here\’s a bzillionaire who bought two political offices with what, $100 million of his own dough? Can he even be said to have been elected, or isn\’t it rather a case of him appointing himself? Then we\’re supposed to genuflect after his magnanimous offer to pay his own bills that resulted from his irresponsible behavior. Wow. Lucky us.

It boggles the mind that this could pass without comment by you while you take to task those who notice how ridiculous all this is.

And as for the \”compassionate conservative\” remark, what are you trying to prove? Do you think that the taxpayers should pay his bills? That be compassionate – only for a liberal.

My God, I hope I don\’t ever get as cynical as all of you! Like it or not, as governor, he is entitled to have his bills paid….right or wrong he is entitled to it. If he ends up paying out of his own pocket Kudos to him. If not, then so be it. I am sure if the truth were known there have been many other personally wealthy politicians who collected from state funded health insurance that shouldn\’t have and you can bet they weren\’t just democrats! You conservatives are some of the narrowest minded humans on this planet! Maybe you would have preferred he were killed and then it would have cost the state to re-elect someone else!

Sheeesh! We\’re only saying that it is kinda odd that he would even mention paying his own bills. It\’s a left handed mea culpa is all: \”I deserve what I got for speeding and not wearing a seat belt and will pay my own bills as penance.\”

    And I\’m not a conservative, I\’m a Whig!

Entitled, entitled. Aren\’t the taxpayers entitled to thier governor obeying the rules as everyone else?

No, because liberalism is a hypocracy. Just look at Algore, he tells you to ride a bike and give up your car but he still flies around in a private jet and a fleet of SUVs…

I am a compasionate Conservative, I also like to point out the hypocracy of you on the left.

Yes, it would be better for him to use whatever health plan would normally pay for the governor\’s medical care. He\’s using his own money as public relations for being a bad boy.

Using his own money to get elected to the US Senate and governor of NJ scares me. I guess elected offices will be limited to the Bill Gateses and David Geffens of the world, i.e., those who can buy the offices rather than depend on thousands of contributions from their constituents.

Is it possible that Corzine is an honorable man? Maybe, if it\’s ok for the governor of NJ to give tons of money to his girlfriend who is an official with a govt employees union in NJ.

\”The US doctrine was invented by Dr. Marvin Olasky, who went on to memorialize it in his books Renewing American Compassion (1996) and Compassionate Conservatism: What it is, What it Does, and How it Can Transform America (2000), and Myron Magnet of the Manhattan Institute. Olasky has been called the \”godfather of compassionate conservatism\”. The phrase was popularized when George W. Bush adopted it as one of his key slogans during his 2000 presidential campaign against Al Gore.\”

In your opinion there might not be such a thing. However, there was a book written about the term. That means it exists. I am not saying that I believe the term to be plausible, but rather that your comment is inaccurate.

Everyone complains and usually those who complain the loudest don\’t have a leg to stand on. Maybe you all missed the article but I read about the governor accepting a ticket and writing a check for not wearing his seat belt. It appears from these posts that most of you feel that you are without sin and like casting the first stone.

As one of his final acts as governor, the compassionate conservative from Texas signed a bill regarding \”futile care\”. If someone cannot be cured a hospital has the right to \”pull the plug\” after 10 days if you cannot find another hospital to take you. The only other state with the same law is Virginia but they give you 14 days to find another hospital. Assisted suicide…hmmm I thought this administration was against that.
