why not pay, it’s under company time anyways! if GEICO had to have someone sue them for the time to be ready on the phone at the time of need, (only takes 2 mins) to sign on the computer and bring it up…but in the long run, time adds up…so GEICO had to pay the time for getting logged into the computer…so precident is sent to the industry, if they have to get ready for work using company materials, in this case the bunny suit, then they need to pay them for that time…
In Oregon it’s whether the equipment is specialized. My employer requires smocks or coveralls, hairnet, ear plugs and rubber boots. We don’t pay donning time because the equipment is not “specialized” e.g. a bunny suit, respirator or turn-outs. To my way of thinking, if I have to change when I get to work, it should be paid.
I agree they should be paid since this is not attire you would leave the house in. But 13 minutes average for putting on a smock, hair net, ear plugs and safety glasses??

Jeeze…Pay the darn employees for the time they use to put on the employer required safety attire.
