You have to be kidding! Those workers did not realize that the fumes from those buses would kill them sooner or later??? Why didn’t the turn off the damn buses, and save us money too. I quess all motors should come with a warning stuck to it, just like a pack of cigarettes!
The bus company is government owned and operated is it not? Or at least heavily subsidized? If there is any fault isn’t it with the city/county/state or whomever? Excuse me- I have to go down to the parking garage, fire up my car,and suck on the tailpipe.
Of course it would be NEW YORK CITY bus workers to file a lawsuit. These ingrates have a union that should have addressed their concerns. If they knew about the problem and did nothing to protect themselves, they’ll have difficulty with any liability theory. In addition, they only work an 8 hour shift and the second and third shifts are “skeleton crews”.
I know a mechanic that works for NYC. They have to pipe or tube any vehicle indoors that is being worked on. That is an exhasut hose that gets placed over the exhaust pipe and is hooked up to an exhaust fan that blows the fumes outside. This has been in effect for well over twn years
Opps I gues someone forgot to due their job right so why not sue some one. When something goes wrong it’s never their fault.
Everybody is trying to find the next “tobacco suit”. Rhode Island with the lead paint, and now these monkeys with the diesel exhaust. Throw the case out and save the government some money. Or at least spend it trying a case with some merit.
My dear father in law Bill McKenna was a bus driver for over 25 years. He drove in mid-town. Unfortunately in 2000 he died of lung cancer and we often wondered if the fumes or as we were told asbestos in the old buses contributed to it.

Maybe there should be a warning label on these NYC workers…..”Warning: Idiot Inside”.
What a bunch of crap. Serious morons seeking the lawsuit lottery. If this junk lawsuit isn’t thrown out, I think I will stick a fork in my eye.
Warning Notices: LMAO :)
