I see prostitution as a victimless crime and don’t believe it should be illegal. Having said that, since it is illegal and it was part of Spitzer’s job to uphold and follow the law he should be prosecuted. I am a big fan of prosecuting high-profile people to send a message. Treat them the same as you would treat anybody else.

    I concur, lastbat.

LAME. If this isn’t a case of getting away with it because of who-you-are, then I don’t know what is. Lame lame lame.

Mr. Obvious, I am personally offended by your remark. It offends me that I did not think of it first!. Thanks for the laugh.

I can’t believe they are not going to prosecute him. If anyone one is held to a higher standard it should be a former attorney general and gov.

Tell me there is no partiality here. Give me a break. Once again, it is who you know. Anyone else would be doing time. The jerk deserves to spend some time with Bubba rather than Bubbles

All kidding aside. What he was being investigated for in this investigation was use of public or campaign funds to pay for the “servives”.
Not for the use of the “services” that is a whole nother issue!

The double standard is alive and well for priviledged politicians and lawyers alike. The legal system is not “just”. Spitzer was caught red-handed and he’s allowed to walk. In the meantime the T.V. show COPS continues to show police busting the average Joe looking for a $100 thrill. Whoever made the decision to let this vermin crawl back under his rock should be the recipient of some street justice.

With all due respect, not prosecuting him is treating him as they would treat anyone else. Remember, in the indictment, he’s referred to as “Client 9.” Are they prosecuting the other 8 (or more) clients? Do you know who they are? Do you care?

Bascially, what the Prosecutor is saying is there are better things to do with the government’s money than to spend it prosecuting Spitzer. Seeing the deficit we’re in, I kind of agree.

I’m not a fan of Spitzer. Prosecuting him would be hoisting him on his own petard, (and it might be fun, like a public hanging) but it would not be treating him like anyone else.

Public officials swear to a higher standard of behavior than the typical citizen. But he is an attorney and they swear to a lower standard of behavior than the typical worm.

Hank, you are absolutely correct. Not many jurisdictions indict the “johns” in prositution cases. The double standard is that they DO prosecute the women!

When you mess with Hank, you get what you deserve. Tough guy Spitzer historically prosecuted EVERY john and hooker he could find to “make a point”. But, when it is his wiener caught in the grinder, he pulls out…

    oy vey gevalt !
    We can’t kvell.

Spitzer got caught schticking his schwanz in a curveh.
So: you may say, he’s a schwandingler, so what ?

What is, he’s getting away with it, and this PROVES it’s not the law, or what you know, it’s WHO you know.

How did he get off ( no, no, not THAT get-off, I mean have the charges dismissed )
–Did he shove lots of gelt in someone’s pocket, and how in hell did the DA, (with the unlikely label Garcia,) figure that soliciting, & procuring a prostitute on NUMEROUS occaisions, togther with violation of the Mann Act( crossing State lines for the purpose of prostituion, a Federal crime)allows him to give a green light to the Red Light Governor !

Did Garcia get his law degree at Sears-Roebuck ?

I feel very sorry for Spitzers’ young daughters ; to see this and I can imagine the shame they felt/feel at school and amongst friends.

    -But Silda ?
You’re an adult, his wife AND a lawyer.

Were you so totally believing of that nerdy spouse of yours that you didn’t have your own antennae tuned in to his “important trips to Washington”
    Ten years, you schlamiel !
You NEVER had an inkling of anything wrong?
Like when you’d want to do the nasty mambo with the “Guv’ner”..-and he’d say HE had a headache ? ?

Too bad you never got a schmeck of his schwanz..oy, THEN you would’ve known he was schtuping the curveh !

    It’s really a shonda..I’m so verklempt !
But the worst of it is that he paraded around as the great savior of the State of NY, embarassing those of us who so genuinely love our Empire State; for all it is, all it’s been, and all it’s taken for the other 49 States, (September 11th for sad starters); while being nothing more than the hypocritical, santimonious, law-breaking adulterous rat that he is

More so, he attacked the insurance industry as a neofyte, knowing NOTHING about the actual movement & need of Contingent Commission Agreements, thereby causing havoc and ruin to many a fine company and loss of jobs to thousands of hard working, innocent people !

For his crimes, he should be sentenced to a jail term in Attica State Prison
I’d love to see him sleeping in his cell with his back to the wall for 2 or 3 years
And wouldn’t the “bro’s” enjoy his shiny tookus !

    Signed,
    Hank
“you mess with MY kid & I’ll get you !”

Hank, you are right. I re-read this article and another article and then finally caught the “we normally don’t prosecute the johns” thing. So I guess he is being treated like everyone else in this case.
