Rick, you are correct in that Forsythe played the crooked judge (and the defendant, Al Pacino’s client, in the final case). The nutty judge that packed the rifle in the last case was played by Jack Warden. (Wikipedia has a great summarization of the entire movie, for those that have not seen it).

It’s stories like this that lead one to despair as to the fate of our courts…
That was a classic Pacino movie and it was definitely one of his better scenes. Do you remember who the judge was????
