Woodchuck, as usual, IJ didn’t give many details on this. The kid could’ve got punched and fell, hitting his head off a table or something. Who knows….

Come on guys, read the darn article – It says he got punched and then fell. Learn how to read. And yea Wuddy, one quick cheap shot punch can cause you to fall – Watch some fight videos on the internet and you will learn that pretty quickly.

What does the email actually say? IF the ***’t principal had solid proof that a fight was going to take place on his premises, to include when/where and did nothing to prevent it, then the school has a a problem. But, maybe the email was indeed vague as to the potential for “fisticuffs”?

Gagnon could/should have walked away or at least attempted to defend himself. Assistant principals aren’t prison guards and shouldn’t be expected to prevent every high school social situation. If this was a cowardly cold-cocking scenario like “Million Dollar Baby”, then the punk who threw the punch and his low life sister should be charged with aggravated assault and do some jail time. Agree that the physiology of this doesn’t support the alleged injuries. Sounds live an “aggravated” verdict & award.

I read that article you posted Lucy.. unbelievable that the kid who threw the punch and his sister (named defendents in this case) are representing themselves in the lawsuit! $6 million is on the line here… unreal

just from one punch? even boxers don’t get all that suffering from 1 punch. remember, also, that fights don’t happen just because of 1 person, it does take 2 to fight! are we sure that this fight was not instigated by the gagnon? mind you, it does not constitute the right to throw a punch. how do we constitute the assistan principal in this? he could not have been there for the punch or fall. are we missing something?

Typical wudchuck – always spouting off like a know it all expert when he doesn’t even know anything of the facts.

If the vice principal could afford to pay any part of “millions” would he still be working? The students probably don’t have any money either… What is the Judge thinking with a non collectible award?
I could see him consciously awarding that amount against the school, but…. I doubt the majority of it will ever be collected.
