So if Obamacare is implemented as passed in Maine, at least 13,732 people would be left uninsured. Isn’t that the exact opposite of the stated purpose of this law? Of course it’s perfectly consistent with the unstated purpose of eliminating the private market and putting everyone on the government program.
Yeah, I’m sure no other insurance company with ME business is interested in those 13,732 customers. The insurance company just doesn’t want their rate increases to get rejected and they’re threatening to leave. Let them go and lose market share. You do realize that the “government program” uses the same private insurers you accuse them of trying to destroy, right? Idiot.
Chuck – epithets aside, what company would want them when they have to run at a 15-20% expense ratio just to break even – lower if they actually want to make a profit. Of course any evil company that’s in it for profit has no business existing.
Who’s the idiot. If I gut rehab my house, is it the same house? The bill and the adminsitration were/are full of bologna. I mean, really, the “Affordable Healcare Act”? It was voted in by a bunch of non-reading political pinheads and supported, ostensibly, by democrats lacking 4th grade math skills. The very thought that “affording” 30 million more people healthcare with prices soaring is going to decrease overall healthcare cost as a percent of GDP is, well, democratic. Crackheads are smarter than that…and only slightly more suicidal.
Then Obama’s provision to buy health insurance across state lines is what they need in Maine, New Hampshire and any other state where Blue Cross has a monopoly.
Simply allow cross border sales of health insurance and your problem is solved. Why these exemptions? The whole Obamacare Act is simply a confusing mess of regulations and laws that no one studied (or even read) before it was enacted. This is going to ruin the quality of a lot of people’s health care.
Be careful with the across state lines thing. That would likely make the entire industry subject to the commerce clause and give the federal government carte blanche.

Waiver upon waiver. The waivers keep pouring in substantiating the premise that Obamacare is a joke, a fiasco, a fluke and a sham.

A shell game. We’re all idiots for allowing it to happen.
