Texting should be considered unsafe operation of a vehicle, which should be a primary offense. A separate law for cell phone use or texting while driving shouldn’t be necessary.

What about all the new cars that are coming out that are like driving a computer around? You don’t think that is distracting?

so now that we have computers parking our cars, will that be considered a distraction if it actually hits another vehicle? that could be something interesting in the future — i have seen cars on the autobahn hooked up by computers (4 in a row) travelling w/o a driver and controlled by a computer. that was over 30 yrs ago. how far have we gone since then? not much, but there will be a day that we don’t have to worry about human driving and hopefully we don’t have to worry about crashes.
