    he was told —

classic case of he was told… we can’t guarantee everything in life…if you think about it, it costs the taxpayers money to keep them for a lifetime… did they both sign an agreement for such? then it could be binding… but word of mouth could change and simply put, NY does not have the funds to cover these costs on a daily basis… where are you going to find the money? raise taxes?! then you really offend the ny citizens because you are asking for more money….

funny how they retired from those positions and now become a lawyer and judge who see to get money because they no longer can keep a lifetime free toll…

If they had a written contract, and the contract stated free rides for life, and the contract wasn’t amended and agreed by both sides, then they should get free rides for life. There really isn’t any “cost” involved but rather lost revenue. Hopefully they have amended the contracts for those who continue to work there, and for new hires.

Mulligan-Contracts can/should be nullified by fraud & or bankruptcy.
Those contracts were bought and paid for by bribes, also known as campaign contributions from the unions who still control NY & NJ.
The Port if subject to proper accounting standards is technically bankrupt & the contracts need to be voided. This has already happened
in some cities & counties across the USA. Expect more of this in 2012. The cesspool that we call the Port should be dissolved.
What is my expertise to make this statement? I was an insider at the Port for a dozen years.

A retired Police Officer who is now a judge can afford to pay bridge and parking fees. The citizen cannot afford for perks that were given to you. This looks like no signed document was ever implemented. Ironic that a retired Police Officer who is a presiding Judge wants all the perks that were given to him at the expense of the citizens of New York.
I would like to see a copy of the contract, if one does exisit.
