    T – you are close, but this story is actually a decade older!

    I’m sure everyone here is familiar with the hit song “The Safety Dance” by Men Without Hats. The song is a protest against club bans on pogo dancing. Pogo dancing originated in the late 70’s punk scene and is the cultural predecessor to the slam dancing mentioned in this article.
