why do we tax payers have to spend money when someone makes a foolish decision to buy a home in a flood plain? isn’t that an assumption of risk on their part for someone to buy a house in a low lying area, and then have our government pay to let them move? when did we change from everyone being responsible for their own decision?
This has been going on for a long time. Section 8 housing, food stamps, welfare, subsidized school lunches, home heating assistance, medicade and on and on and on. Pretty soon the have nots will have evrything that the haves have without ever needing to lift a finger. It is very frustrating for the ones that work 8 to 10 hours a day to just try and keep their head above water.
