I lost my house because I lived on a flood plain and had no flood insurance. It was MY FAULT. Now all these whiners on the East coast didn’t or couldn’t get the proper insurance and chose to live there anyway. Tough cookies!
Well, you lived on a flood plain, many of the people affected in this storm didn’t. And, for many who did, their flood insurance isn’t covering the damages. Since you knew you lived on a flood plain, why didn’t you have flood insurance? But, using your logic, the people in Oklahoma live in tornado alley, the people in CA live in known earthquake and mudslide zones, even in New Orleans, they built BELOW sea level. So, because of your “lack of foresight”, anyone who suffers a “disaster” should be left to fend for themselves? Sounds like sour grapes to me.
