Welfare for the Rich! Land isn’t worth anything and the rich guys get bailed out. I wonder if the Mass legislature is going to pay the “view taxes”.

I’m glad to hear someone is trying to propose solutions to the build/destroy/rebuild cycle that’s ruining our coastlines and putting our federal/state budgets further into debt by costing us billions in wind/flood recovery and then rebuilding in the same hazardous places. Madness.

Why should taxpayers take this hit? Leave it between the homeowners and their insurance companies. Why doesn’t Pacheco turn his attention to real problems like the state budget, DCF, The Crime Lab scandal, etc? This Global Warming “study” is just going to be another way to repay the special interest groups that keep him in office.

I agree with Big D, this will be a bailout for wealthy homeowners and insurance companies that stand to lose the most. Sen. Pacheco taking care of the special interests that take care of him.
