NY does have a Muslim problem as well. Hardly a week goes by that an arrest is made with some Muslim dude planning to blow up something. The new problem is the radicalization of small cells or individuals to do their evil deeds. NY, to their credit does have an active anti-terrorist force dedicated to disrupting before it happens.
