It’s long past time for this in Massachusetts. I’m tired of having to honk at the person in front of me because they didn’t see the light change while having their face buried in their phone. The texting ban is all but a scofflaw.
I don’t think it’s being a nanny to push such a law since fewer and fewer people take personal responsibility for anything EVER; seems up to the state / law to protect everyone else (or at least try)
Agreed. They’re operating a 2 ton object on public roads with no regard for other people’s safety. If you want to crash your own car, go for it. You crash into mine because you’re texting “OMG there’s so much traffic”, not ok.
The whole society is bonkers over cells and it is an illness. Distracted driving is very dangerous, but the cell addicts cannot be without it for a minute. You can’t even have a conversation with a cell addict without them checking their social media, answering texts and downloading a new app.
if it’s an illness it can be treated, so how do you treat cellphoneitis? is there a pill you can take? do you have to not use your phone for 4 weeks to break the habit?
