Liberty Mutual Eyes Sale of Two Office Buildings in Boston

September 9, 2016

Liberty Mutual Insurance, a Boston, Mass., based property and casualty insurer, is planning to market the sale of two office buildings at 10 St. James Avenue and 75 Arlington Street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood.

The company owns and partially occupies both buildings, which total nearly 825,000 square feet. After Liberty Mutual fully occupied its new office building at 157 Berkeley Street in 2013, the majority of both buildings became rental space, which was the prime motivation for the company to sell them.

Going forward, Liberty Mutual will continue to occupy space in its buildings at 175 Berkeley Street, 157 Berkeley Street and 30 St. James Avenue, as well as continue leasing back space in 10 St. James Avenue and 75 Arlington Street.
