It sure is. Happens in our little town more than one would think. One office manager at a clinic here took more than $500K. Another took around $250K. It isn’t always easy to convince and insured that they need $1M limits on employee dishonesty though. I’ve been saving these articles as examples. I save a lot of IJ articles to share with my customers. The ones on business auto have been the most useful because this past 18 months most all of our commercial lines customers are seeing big increases in their auto insurance here in Texas.

Local case discovered this year where the bookkeeper for a logging company stole at least $400k over 10 years. She left earlier this year to go work at another job, going away lunch, cake and hugs the whole works. They brought in someone to train the owner’s wife on how to do her job and they could not reconcile any of the accounts. They checked at her new job but clean there – had to hire a forensic accountant at the logging company. The owner told the local paper no more hugs.
