Lloyd’s announced the appointment of Celia Denton to the Council of Lloyd’s.
She recently retired from the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche, where she acted as Head of the General Insurance Practice and then Head of Internal Risk Management, Assurance and Advisory Practice. Denton has specialized in the insurance industry for over twenty years.
Welcoming her appointment, Lloyd’s Chairman, Lord Levene stated: “I am delighted to welcome Celia Denton to the Lloyd’s Council. Her extensive knowledge of the insurance industry coupled with her accounting and audit experience will be of tremendous value”.
Commenting on her appointment, Celia Denton noted: “I have worked closely with the Lloyd’s market for a number of years and I am greatly looking forward to working at the heart of an organisation that continues to play a leading role in the global insurance industry”.
The announcement noted that she “joins the Council of Lloyd’s as a nominated member. Under the Lloyd’s Act 1982, the Council has responsibility for the management and superintendence of the affairs of the Society and the power to regulate and direct the business of insurance of Lloyd’s.”
