As for imperical scientific proof, I think you may be correct. But the theory of evolution and the theory of relativity are also just theories, but are accepted by a consensus of scientists. Those who deny scientific consensus have every right to think whatever they want. If you believe the earth is flat, more power to you. But a nation that passes laws or eliminates sensible regulations designed to curtail global warming in defiance of generally accepted science is foolhardy at best and criminally negligent at worst. Better safe than sorry.

Munich is ahead of he curve on “green” insurance programs; to suggest that their concern is alturistic is naive.
Nobody, including Munich, can cite imperical scientific proof of AGW–simply saying a consensus of scientists say so isn’t proof.
