But I’ve been told communism works by my school teachers, how can this be? Oh the humanity!

This isn’t communism, but rather fascistic totalitarinaism. Few if any independant media outlets, heavy government run propaganda tools, large near monopolisitc companies who practice crony capitalism and an elevation of the state over the individual.
Just as deadly but a different kind of crazy from the communist totalitarian dictators of old.
I think that Fatboy in North Korea is about the only bunch truly practicing the Stalin model although they do it as a family dynasty instead of the nasty politburo knife fights that happened in the good old USSR.

We are told Putin has a strong favorability rating. No doubt he will spin this, blaming the West. Sooner or later the Russian people need to wake up. In the meantime, their economy will continue to crumble, and the Russian people will suffer, meanwhile they do not have anything like online payday loans for US citizens.
