Markel International Singapore, the specialist insurer, has appointed Colin Fordham as a senior marine liability underwriter based in Singapore.
Fordham joins from the Munich Re syndicate on the Lloyd’s Asia Platform, where he held the same position, and brings with him more than 20 years of marine insurance experience in underwriting, claims and broking. Prior to that, he was the general manager for Seasia P&I Services where he supervised a team of claims handlers and master mariners, along with a correspondent network in more than 20 countries.
Reporting to Matthew Cannock, principal officer & managing director of Markel International Singapore, Fordham will focus on boosting Markel’s marine liability business in Asia.
“With Colin’s wealth of experience and expertise, we can definitely look towards growing Markel’s marine liability book of business in the region,” commented Cannock.
Fordham is a senior committee member of several associations in Singapore such as the Singapore Shipping Association (insurance), Workplace Safety and Health Council (insurance workgroup), Singapore Shipping Association (training & development) and Workplace Safety and Health Council (engagement & outreach).
