“Thomas A. Varner of Kansas City was ordered in June 1995 to pay $2,000 a month for the support of four children….

#1, this guy is a bum

It’s unclear how Varner is supposed to pay child support now that his legal means of making a living in his home state has been revoked.

#2, he had TEN YEARS to live up to his obligations. Now he suffers the consequences.

He’s only made a token payment, and that only 5 years ago. Non-renewal of his license will not materially affect his family…they would not have seen the money anyway. Ant it teached this schuck a lesson

Ian hit the nail on the head!! Renewing this man’s license was not going to make him pay his child support any more than having his license for the last ten made him pay. Some people (men and women) just have no ethics or morals and they should not be in a position of fiduciary responsibility…and this schmuck is one of them! Put him in jail as far as I am concerned.

A round of applause please for a state agency that takes any breach of duty seriously. The deadbeat syndrome will never be stomped out until EVERY door is slammed in it’s face! California could learn a thing or two from Missouri if it wasn’t too busy protecting the rights of criminals.

I imagine it was unclear how MRS. Varner was supposed to support her children when the source of her legally ordered financial means was witheld. For the past 10 years, Mr. Varner’s been “making a living”, and still didn’t pay. You break the law, it will come back to bite you.

My workday is just about half over….and I finally read something that makes sense!

Nail the deadbeat to the wall. His job status isn’t going to affect his kids one way or another.

SO BE IT. It helps to clean up the profession.
How is he going to pay it now —too bad, he should have thought about that before.
Our every choice has a consequence -good or bad. It appears his was bad.

FYI, California DOI won’t renew your Agent’s license, either, nor with DMV renew your Driver’s License, nor any other CA agency renew any other license you might have, if you’re a deadbeat dad (or mom!). CA voters put this into effect many years ago. Hooray for CA on this issue!

Despite this setback, Varmer still has opportunities to earn and, hopefully, contribute to the wellfare of his children.
There are still two lower rungs on the ladder before he descends irreversably into the pits of destitution – he can still peddle used cars or time share.

They should not renew his driver’s license either, or any other license for that matter. It’s about time our country stood up and took care of our own and paying child support is only part of the deal.

Get off your lazy rears and support your children now! They’ll take your money, but they need your time too. So this is a double dose of abuse to children.
