Don\’t apply if you\’re not a caveman. There jobs are so easy, even a caveman can apply.

For 12.97 an hour, you\’ll need to be a caveman, won\’t be able to buy a house and drag home the groceries at that salary.
Guess that\’s why Berkshire Hathaway has record profits.

Seriously this is nothing to joke about – Geico is stealing all of Walmarts employees. Some of the stores dont even have greeters anymore because they are now employed at Geico advising people on insurance.

Sadly, $12.97 is considered a great wage for most unskilled Iowans. My daughter was making 1/3 of that as a waitress, and 3/4 that at two different banks, full time.

I\’ve been working at that office for less than 5 years. In years three and four my W2 showed above $50,000 and 4-5G was put in my 401k each year by the company. Its not that difficult to make a good income for this area if you do your job and last long enough to get some pay raises.

the cost of living differences must be accounted for, too. the starting hourly salary in Iowa may seem small, but the guess is they will receive thousands of resumes and apps for the 100 positions. There\’s probably jobs that start in the 35k-40k range in CA that are offering less money when you compare the cost of living of the two areas.

Just wish it didn\’t get so doggone cold up there!
