SB1070 is a fair law. If you are not paying into the system with income taxes, GET OUT! NO more free ride JUST because you whine and ignore the LAW! Why should illegals be allowed to break the law? If you go into Mexico illegally, TWO years in one of those crap hole prisons! WE provide food, shelter, income ALL at the expense of the legal tax payer.

ENOUGH! GET legal or GET OUT of AZ!
As far as Wisconsin insurance law, how is it enforced other than police stops? Verify at registration or do not give them tags… Watch them comply or get off the road where they belong.

This is a responsible, well-intended law to protect responsible people from the idiots who won’t purchase insurance. Driving is a priviledge, not a right, and if you can’t protect others from damage you might cause, you shouldn’t get that priviledge. Un-insureds should also be barred from making a claim against someone with insurance. Turnaround is fair play.

Cops set up sobriety and safety checkpoints; why not insurance checkpoints? Not many states have the stones get tough with those who defy the law. Make the penalty stiff enough and the problem goes away. Cars that are financed or leased must have insurance. So we know who we’re talking about here.

Wisconsin is racist. The only people without insurance in WI are the illegals that left AZ. So now they are going after the Mexican. Boycott Milk and Cheese! Racial Profilers!

first of all part of this article is wrong…. they have mandated insurance every time a person owns a vehicle and have tags… what this bill does do, is increase the amount of coverage required… what amazes me is why are we fining those that don’t have the proof of insurance? afterall, does not the state get a list of those who have insurance from the insurance company? not only that, $10 is meager to be asking for… they are not criminals because they do have insurance… $5000 for lying? this is extreme – it does not fit the crime. can’t wait to see this in court….

Industry (Fast Track) loss severity data points to the average loss being well below the previous state financial responsibility limits. There was no cogent argument supporting the increase in state fr limits. This change pads the pockets of plaintiff attorneys, pure and simple.

This will be a never-ending debate between the haves and the have-nots. Those who can afford insurance will always ridicule those that cannot. Those who can’t pay probably won’t pay and if they get a $500 ticket, they’ll probably just consider that their payment to the man and still not get it.

I think SB1070 is a bunch of CRAP! The only people that will get anything out of this is, indeed, the Attorneys and Insurance Companies. To mandate a 50/100 is robbery! Has our government not noticed that their Constituants wallets are already EXTREMELY LEAN? So we can now send criminals into the streets causing auto accidents on purpose, as they do in many other states, and they can make $$$ from it. I’m sure it will be very profitable for them as well as the Lawyers! I am curious as to why the People of Wisconsin didn’t get a say in this matter? As if the jails aren’t over flowing enough, Madison wants to turn Good people into criminals because they can’t afford auto insurance? Let’s call this what it really is! Just another form of TAXATION. Let’s see, should the bills get paid? Should we eat this week? Nope, Sorry. We have a mandated $50,000 auto insurance premium that we have to pay if we wnat to drive. As auto accidents go on the rise, the Lawyers will continue to keep up their standard of living and possibly increase it above and beyond, as they will surely get paid more often. And in case anybody has the notion that I can’t speak unless I’ve been in a auto where the driver had no insurance; I’ve been hit 2 times in the distant past. My insurance paid nothing but lawyer fees, I got stuck with bills and I don’t don’t care what happened to the uninsured persons that hit me!!! I think that a small tidbit of info has been left out as well. If you have no insurance at the time you get your NEW insurance coverage, you automatically pay a higher premium for at least one year. That’s your punishment for not having it in the first place. And Lord knows our Police departments don’t have enough crime on their hands without adding to it by turning lower to middle class people into criminals. This was a Very intelligant move. NOT!! Is this an Election year? GOOD! I’m still ticked off that after 33 years of driving without a ticket or causing an accident, that I get high premiums because my husband drives like an idiot! He gets lower rates based on my driving record and mine goes up because of his. So let’s through some more on my plate! I’m sure if I give up eating, turn off some utilities and go without my Meds, I can squeeze these Mandated premiums out of my behind! Way to Go ELECTED Officials! You’re Most Definately fixing the damage caused by the Depression that we Really AREN’T in!! See you in November or Will We?

Wow, where do I start with that rant?

Well, even before I got into the industry, I was all for requiring insurance to protect people from irresposible drivers not carrying insurance. Now, the amount of liabilbty that Wins is requiring is up for debate on if it is excessive or not. i do not live in that state, so I have not idea what the cost of living is there.

As for “Madison wants to turn Good people into criminals because they can’t afford auto insurance”, last time I checked, not carrying required insurance was a civil offence, not a criminal offence. It becomes criminal if their license is suspended because they got caught too many times not carrying insurance, and still continue to drive on a suspended licence, then it becomes criminal. Please correct me if I am wrong.

As for you getting hit by uninsured motorists, that should not have happened. You shouldn’t have to take on the addintial finacial burden because someone else was negligent, caused an accident, and now you are worse off.

Now, here is the flip side. Why should I have to pay extra on my insurance to protect myself from an uninsured driver that hits me (uninsured motorist coverage) to protect me fincalally in case my car is totaled and I am put in the hosptial and can not work, all because someone else caused the accident and does not have insurance? When you come up with a good reason for that, please let me know.
