We need to be certain this can be done environmentally safe. If it can be, why not build it? Though, all it’s going to do is ship oil to China and other countries. It’s not meant to help us here domestically. We still need alternative fuels! It would be nice…no strike that…bliss not to have to depend on so much oil.
Actually Planet, it would be nicer not to be dependent on foreign sources of oil and gas. We have plenty of resources and all they have to do is develop them. So what if we are an exporter of oil and gas. Have you not heard about the balance of payments issue with China and other countries including the despot in Venezuela? I know you love your Nissan Leaf, but a lot of people like their regular cars. We also need to abandon the algae, switchgrass and cow dung alternatives. All those do is use up our tax dollars and then they go belly up.
