Pioneer Underwriters (Pioneer) has appointed Aaron Sternstein as vice president in its Allied Healthcare division. He is based in Chicago and reports to Jim Stewart, senior vice president of Allied.
Sternstein has more than a decade of experience in the industry, most recently as a medical underwriting manager for Markel. Prior to this, Sternstein was a senior underwriting consultant at CNA Financial Corporation. Sternstein began his career as a technical assistant in the Primary Casualty Department at General Star Management Company.
Pioneer Underwriters, the underwriting group within Minova Insurance Holdings Ltd., operates Pioneer Syndicate 1980, which launched on Jan. 1, 2018. In the United States, Pioneer operates via its offices in New York, Atlanta, Chicago and Philadelphia through a network of retail and wholesale brokers.
Pioneer launched its Allied Healthcare division in 2015.
