This is what happens when a thug sets himself up as an agent, has no markets to do anything legitimate and then fakes certificates. Gullible customers thought they had insurance. Not!
From the article: “DIFS also found that each customer knowingly bought fake insurance from Leonard in order to register a vehicle with the Michigan Secretary of State.”
So the customers were not “gullible” as you state, but actually complicit. In fact, if you click on the link to the DIFS decision that’s IN THE ARTICLE, you’ll see that each customer signed a statement acknowledging that they knew the certificate of insurance they were purchasing was false.
And Leonard was an employee of a Flint agency that sells auto insurance, so he did have markets for legitimate auto insurance sales..
Try paying more attention instead of rushing to judgement.
There you go again FPF letting the details get in the way. Where’s your spirit? Isn’t it more fun to gloss over the headline and then spew unrelated facts and opinions. You know, to educate all of us who don’t know the ways of the world. I know I feel better already.

LOL. I view Agent’s posts on Insurance Journal as a sort of cyber Whack-a-mole game. He pops up and pops off; we whack him down with the facts.
