Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based UFG Insurance has appointed Corey Ruehle as chief claims officer, effective Feb.1.
Ruehle will succeed current Chief Claims Officer Dave Conner, as he retires after a successful 20-year career with the company.
Based in Cedar Rapids, Ruehle is currently vice president and manager of the company’s Midwest region. He joined UFG as a commercial underwriter in 2001 and has since served in various capacities, including as an underwriting supervisor and underwriting manager. He was promoted to manager of the Midwest region in 2012 and was named a vice president in 2013.
Ruehle holds the Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) professional designations.
Founded in 1946 as United Fire & Casualty Company, UFG writes property and casualty insurance through its insurance company subsidiaries. UFG is licensed as a property and casualty insurer in 46 states, plus the District of Columbia, and is represented by approximately 1,100 independent agencies.
