Insurance Education Foundation Redesigns Web site

December 17, 2004

The Insurance Education Foundation (IEF) has redesigned its Web site (www.ief.org) to be more user friendly and dynamic.

“The IEF website was redesigned to be more responsive to high school teachers and other constituencies who expressed a need for a more ‘user friendly’ site,” said Larry Forrester, IEF president. “The new design provides teachers with material in a format compatible with modern teaching methods and eliminates the need for teachers to randomly search the web to find intellectual material for use in educating young people about risk management.”

A revamped “Educators” area features the most current information on Life, Health, Property, and Auto insurance to include lesson plans, articles and additional resources teachers can access to use for classroom instruction. Additional topics are insurance careers, insurance scoring, and “Hot Topics.”

The new web site provides daily updates presenting current and relevant insurance topics. Additional information available at no charge to teachers includes:

· IEF’s two-week, graduate-level, summer institute program, with online registration,

· the James L. Osborne Insurance Educator of the Year competition, also with online registration; and

· Back issues of IEF’s publication, The Insurance Educator, which will be distributed digitally.

The redesigned website also features a new “Supporters” site for companies and individuals interested in the fund raising activities of the Foundation.
