    So,…….Your not a Farmers Kissass ?
Who would have ever thought that … Ha ha
You may describe yourself as you see, but your patronage or “*** Kissn” (as it looks to most reasonable poeple) is only tied to your financial interest in this THIRD RATE Operation. The market will decide in the end which company has the Real Deal. I predict that you have the “Farm” part right, but you will just have to preceed it with the word “STATE” to find a company who has the Long Run Holding power to become a Leader in the eyes of the consumer, not some “Marketing” types who Whoop up the Hipe and beat their own drums….in the end , this has amounted to a big resounding Laugh for the folks who enjoy watching the dance unfold..Did you ever think about writing for a Stand up Comic? I think that you may overlooking a expansion opportunity

Oh, I think your on to something here. Since there is a placement somewhere between Margaritaville, State Farm and Farmer’s Insurance Company. More than just Insurance Because really? Mortage Companies, Superior National, Pac-Bell, Michael Orber & Associates, how many farmer’s agents call up a single mom, who just so happended to have just moved because she can’t work, therefore can’t pay the rent to sustain living where she wants to live, payne ave, San Jose.

Leave it to the agents of Farmer’s to do a random call-up, by the way the phone number of this current living resident has been changed, (got the old phone records) getting back to Farmer’s Insurance Company inquiry about a fire recently?

See, the only reason as a new add-on tenet to this Franciscan Apartment Complex in San Jose, California is to intimidate me. To bad it didn’t work Farmer’s Group. You see, the reason for this is that I had a lot of paper work against California Compensation Insurance Company that wouldn’t be to helpful in their attempt to screw me out of worker’s compensation benefits.

So, what else to do but, show their gigantic balls and show me how greatful they are with my inquiries about my injuries. Are you listening (HCA) There is only one reason why such a phone inquiry would exists: to scare the living crap out of me. To bad again Farmer’s associates, had enough crap in my life time to know the difference between what it was about? and to change my course. Got you suckas’, and more paper work to shove up your ***, yes just like you plannned on doing to me and my son.

How do like your subjective and experienced now?

O how nice to read farmers found some outside source to do their advertizement blitz. We know most of the agent’s sure aren’t helping there image! I see more more reason why Zurich purchased the company, and will not stand by farmers on T.V.

But their advertising is good. Says a lot about advertising doesn’t it? Such as, it is meant to fool you into buying a lousy product from a third rate company which is staffed by people who dislike their company and it’s exec’s very much. But geez, the advertising is good. Read the article. Farmers deserves their downward spiral. Too many long time agents being terminated for company mistakes. But hey, the advertising looks just dandy. Putz.

You guys are morons! Farmers just increased the ad budget, POSTED the specific times and channels the ads will be showing, and have created two new and amusing commercials.

Whoever’s posting negative stuff about Farmers products and advertising either is a disgruntled ex-agent, or didn’t bother to pay attention to the new products (with lower, competitive pricing), services, and promotions geared to take Farmers even higher.

No, I’m not a Farmers kissass, and I’m not an employee. I’m a guy that depends on Farmers as a business partner to take MY income even higher.

If you think the grass is greener somewhere else, go there. And stop *****ing.

Boy….. judging by these posting’s farmers is one dislike company. I believe Zurich purchased them as they were ripe for the picking. Their rating was slipping fast.
Then they started hiring a zillion agents from all walks of life, who could barely speck english let alone understand underwriting philosophy. And i would say they were never a proud company. Their proud of fear management. And as far as a whiner goes with this particular company, i must agree all of us truly â€Åâ€Ŕreal live broker’s” who know and understand coverage issue’s would really love to see farmers go away. This company as created such a stigma in our industry it’s sad. If you mention the name farmers to any of the following companies boy do you get and ear ful. The Hartford, Travelers Safeco, Allied, Chubb, Financial Pacific, and Zurich ! too. Farmers has not earn â€Åâ€Ŕjack” they buy their way into a market or advertizing. The great companies are invited to bid on advertizing rights such as Nationwide ins, for golf.

I see many comments – only can talk from experience. we had Allstate 15 yrs -2 residencies -3 cars – no claims. While out of town we were robbed. Police est they were in 2 days. Wiped out. Allstate did not depose us for 7 months. Also told us to replace $11,000 in goods – then denied payment. Sent final denial 1 week before statue on suing – 5 months after they deposed us. We got suit filed in 2 days
3 YEARS later still waiitng for settlement. Our state commissioner’s office advises Allstate worst – iresponsibly denies 80% of claims. But ss long as they entertain our politicians nothing will change. Allstate had the nerve to offer renewal – went to Farmers who has been great (though no claim since to judge that farmers service). My advise – if you have Allstate – drop them ASAP.

Don’t forget, the company you love so much was sued by it’s own claims reps and handed a $40 million judgement which was upheld in California appeals court. Farmers sucks. In the Bay Area, they’ve stooped to hiring Russian immigrants, who in turn hire their family members, that A. don’t speak the language, B. aren’t immersed in the culture and C. have a hard time working with women. But you love Farmers. Farmers gets you back where you belong….
in COURT. What other company goes after old time agents to fire for low production? The word on the street is that Farmers is headed for #8 nationally. A fall from third position only 3 years ago. Putz.

    Dear People,
As an insurance agent of almost 30 years, I can only say, “WOW!”. Imagine this, I am the insurance company, my closest friends are my board of directors, I sit on the board of and I purchase millions of dollars in stocks in: various insurance company rating agencies, advertising agencies, newspapers, television, printing companies, etc. SWEET!

Instead they pick an eighth ranked company who “bought” the award with policyholder dollars. Big Whoop. Retired pirate Marty Feinstein is chuckling with his millions, while he opens another beer and finishes a Cohiba. Farmers. What a waste of a once proud company.

Certain major insurers put on a false face that portrays a “people-before-profit” appeal to the generally too-busy to-research-my-insurer working public, while practicing a shadowy “profit-before-people” business culture.

Allstate, State Farm, Farmers, USAA, Safeco, TWIA (Texas Windstorm Insurance Association), or other local-national-international insurance entities should be aware that constant “feel good” public reminders of one’s company, verses actual claim settlement experiences, can have a reverse affect on a company’s bottom line.

Mass advertising can actually hurt a company by said advertising reminding the general public what the (negative) truth really is. That truth is coming out in reader (people) comments such as those posted so far.

Too bad certain insurers think the public will remain fooled by cheap psychological
advertising trickery built into their pre-internet marketing schemes.

Too bad indeed. They must not yet realize the reach of the new [internet] word-of-mouth / insurer conduct research machine.

Using Google, or other internet research tools, try typing the name of your insurer along with words, or terms, like…Deceit, Fraud, Fraudulent claim settlement practices, Low balling, FBI, Unfair claim settlement practices, Contractor overhead and profit and etc. loss claim profiling / people service history type info.

Then make a purchasing decision. You only earn every dollar YOU earn…once.

Here at the Pleasanton Service Center, we see the worst of the worst in Farmers District Managers. The post about the Russian appointments is accurate. Farmers hired these hacks to cut out the old long time producers, some of whom had well over 20 years watching this company’s rapid decline. There are very few women agents who survive the threat tactics and unreasonable production requirements (who wants to buy a policy that costs several hundred dollars more than the nearest competitor?). It is true that our claims adjusters won a $40 million lawsuit from Farmers because they were not paid for overtime work as required by California law. This was a drop in the bucket when you consider that policyholders have to sue Farmers for fair settlement of medical costs. Farmers is not a company I would either insure my cars and home with. The working conditions are so bad that we have a large staff turnover. The people come here to get trained and then leave. Farmers was once a company who we were proud to work for. That was then. Last September, Consumer Reports said that Farmers, in California, was rated dead last. People don’t care about fancy ads, when their insurance experience with Farmers has been horrific. No amount of advertising will help Farmers. They are rotting from the head down. As for the Russian District managers in our region, they are the worst. Patty

As an agency owner, I’d like to send a big ‘Thank You’ to Farmers Insurance. Their District Managers and State Executives are great for my Independent Agency.

While our heart does sincerely go out to the a few Farmers agents who have sincerely tried to take care of their clients, we cannot help but write good business that Farmers apparently wants to throw away.

The products, the service, the support, the management’s leadership– those poor “insurance” agents have absolutely no place to turn. (Notice, “insurance” agents. Farmers tells their agents to salvage their agencies by becoming Financial Services agents, just like State Farm tells their employee-agents, just like Allstate tells their employee-agents, etc etc etc. So, where will anyone get their insurance??)

It’s like telling Brett Favre to win the Super Bowl and giving him a hockey stick for equipment.

Thank you, Farmers. You’re buying me my lake house and boat.

Responding to Roger Poe’s comments, one of the first lessons I learned long ago about marketing personal lines is that companies like Allstate, which was the example used in the seminar I took, uses advertising both as a sales tool and positive reinforcement to offset any negative contact with the public. I believe there was even a ratio of positive to negative contacts used as a rule of thumb, but I can’t remember what it was. All companies put their best foot forward in their advertising and if some customers have had an unfortunate experience with the company they want to be sure those people see a positive image many more times.

This is not to excuse poor performance by a company for their is no excuse for that.

It’s advertising, for god sake! The company sucks? Don’t work for the company!

We independents gleefully await whatever ad support that can come our way. You captives are like babies that sit their and whine about how crappy a competitor company is. If we had the ad support you cubscouts enjoy, we’d be able to eat your lunch, breakfast and dinner.

Stop whining and start learning how to be professionals. Policy peddling serves you, not the client. The claims office spends more time trying to look good utilizing the piece of crap you sold to the client. If they suck it’s because you sucked first.

Let’s try to move past a sales culture and focus on being trusted advisors. And who gives a s*** what Consumer Reports ranks anything. You are the product the client is buying. If your tools suck, get a better box of tools!

You want the companies to start doing something! Start using the State Insurance Dept. Compaint form. Have every customer that has a problem send one in. BUT be prepared for company retaliation. The compaint form goes in the company file at the Dept. and makes the State get involved whether they want to or not.
We got a warning from Allstate to stop letting our customers file complaints.
    Whoppee!!!!

Wish some more companies just PERFORMED like they say they do, then maybe the market would just follow them to their products……it’s funny that some of the best food is found in hometown establishments that don’t have glitzy ad campaigns and marketing budgets….it’s funny that people will find the companies who just perform, day after day…..all of these “also ran” companies should just “put up” (perform) like companies like “State Farm” That company carries the heavest of all client loads (Policies in force) and continually OUT PERFORMS the companies who are just “Bug Spats” on the bigger market segment radar screen….. Atta Boy to the Real performers……It’s funny, the “also rans” can only put up the glitz but not the GOODS……..

Farmers is great. I have been an employee and a client and have no problems with them…. they do pay their claims and in a timely manner…just as the policy states. the problem is when people want more than they are insured for. it is funny that when people are wanting to buy a policy they want the cheapest premium around and when they have a claim they want policy limits and then some. farmers agents know their policies and try to educate their clients on the right coverage for them.

Sounds like district managers posting comments here. No bias right? Why not chat with the claims employees who had to sue their own lousy employer, and then weather the appeals process, just to have an appelate judge confirm the damages. Farmers was once a very good company. Then the suits got snared by BAT and Zurich. Now it’s just another sad tale of woe for the agents. But you go ahead and keep sounding that trumpet for them. No bias right?

Most of those’s agents have left the company to further their career, as the employee’s have at the Pleasanton office over the years. I would say that 95% of the agent for Farmers don’t have a clue as to what a HO-3,4,5,6 or DP-1,2,3. And let’s not even go into Life Insurance O my god do they need help. I agree they need to go away help us sell them off……, Zurich

My home was seriously damaged by a flood on 6/14/06. As of today (10/18/06) I have not yet received my check for damages. It \’s (going out today, in the mail, on his desk ready to go out) every time I call to find an answer. This has caused an unbelievable amount of stress on me, so much so that I now have to be under doctors care. Nerves shot, heart palpitations, can \’t sleep, can\’t eat, etc. Isn\’t there something that can be done or is an insured just a number to Hartford? Is there a way to include my comoplaint into the law suit against Hartford that\’s going on in Maryland? Just what recourse do I have to compensate for the frustration/nerves I now have to deal with?
