Purchasers of toll-free number or net-offered insurance usually find out this too late: An enquiry into the possibility of making a claim becomes a claim on their record. An agent can explain to insureds the consequence of repetitive claims.

While the number of people using web sites to obtain insurance quotes increases, many of these people still do not make their perchase on the web. It is simply more convenient to shop on the web, but web quotes are often not the lowest premiums available. Discounts and proper selection of coverages and limits often cause web quotes to be higher than what a person can obtain from an agent. It also gives the present carrier an advantage since that company has more details and may be offering better discounts on renewal.
