Kingsway just purchased Mendota Insurance compnay from Travelers. Top notch A+, now owned by less than stellar parent company.
Thanks Travelers, agents really appreciate having to explain why things like this happen to our customers.

HaHaHaHaHa – Screw the bastards. They earned this problem – those (expletive deleted) morons. We’re so SORRY their book has soured.

Burn and churn times, folks. Sounds like Arrowhead General Agency has screwed another market. Contractors, trucking, workers compensation (Cypress Point), non-standard auto – you name it, Arrowhead will screw you. And guess what – they get to handle the claims on behalf of Lincoln General (through one of Arrowhead’s many subsidiaries).

Bill Starr should be fired for dealing with these San Diego morons. Mr. Starr, you can put lipstick on a pig, but a pig is still a pig.

I guess this is what happens when you want to bulk up quickly. Arrowhead is laughing all the way to the bank. Lincoln General is now going to lose their “A” rating.

This is the result when you have the 800 lb. gorilla tell a legitimate insurance company what to do.

When has Arrowhead General ever produced a profitable book of business for any of their victims?

“Woops, excuse me – we we really under reserved?” This is kind of the Arrowhead MO. Dress it up – worry later.

Maybe Mr. Starr should have a long overdue discussion with Mr. Kilkenney.

“Lincoln follower” and “not surprised” responses lack the nuts to use their correct names as they probably support numerous Arrowhead products. Shows how little you know as Pat Kilkenny sold Arrowhead last year. Arrowhead is ONE of MANY Lincoln general agents and I would bet the G.A. with the most profitable book of non-standard business. Lincoln has a g.a. in AZ writing in CA. which may be causing some reserve problems. You two nutless wonders criticizing Arrowhead demonstrates your lack of knowledge about Ahead. They built over $1 billion in profitable business or reinsurers and front companies would have left long ago. Retail agents commenting on anything usually makes me laugh.
Why not provide both your names? Or, are you a competitor of Ahead who has gotten their butt kicked by Pat?
Get your facts straight before ripping one of the largest and finest g.a.’s in the insurance industry. Like it or not, that is a fact.
Again, how big of a book do you have with Ahead products?
    tell the truth?

    chickensh_t emails.

the problems are systemic for Kingsway, their Mobile , AL companie is going under as we write these messages. Huge layoff of personnel, turning underwriting and claims over to an MGA (not Arrowhead) They allowed a man to rise to president of the company when they had to post a special bond with the state just to let him be the president because of how close he was to another failed company (we’re all Champions aren’t we Richard Murray?) Bill Starr is lost and so is Shaun Jackson his right hand man.

I think the saddest thing about this article is the fact that BTIS posted a link to this from their website. They must be really desparate to write business! How sad!

No actually, BTIS is the Walmart of insurance. They even have a quote from the Walmart founder on their website. See for yourself: http://www.btis.com/about

If anything BTIS is a the Walmart of insurance- a big box full of junk.

What a joke. That is quite petty of BTIS to link this story to their website. Aren’t all their carriers either B rated or non-admitted???

do your homework, BTIS carriers are all am best rate A+ or better. There small Navigators artisan program is admitted in the state of California. I am glad BTIS is informing us agents what is going on in the insurance market.

It’s clearly a sign of weakness and desperation of BTIS to link this article to their website. I feel for them. They are probably getting their *** kicked in this soft market and will try anything to manipulate agents to write with them. What a bunch of tools!

I’ve been in the business for a very long time and have some friends over at Navigators. I know one of the senior executives who thinks the company could be heading for a “B” rating due to poor performance of many of it’s lines of business- especially it’s construction book. Watch out! This company has been known to underprice in the soft market and pull out when things get tough!
