    B”H

Usually an article like this would give a reason he left… Does anyone know?

Maybe he finally got fed up with White collar work and moved to Cabo and opened a bar.

The source of this article is the company he left (Fireman’s Fund). Usually, they won’t say why anyone in upper management leaves unless it’s for retirement.

Actually they most always say the reason but in very general terms (i.e. – personal reasons, retirement, etc.) The fact that the reason is silent, indicates to me that there is a much larger story behind this.

Here is a link for more information

    http://www.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/stories/2007/06/11/daily5.html

The article states that:Beneducci, who had been with the company for nine years, left “for career and personal reasons,” Fireman’s Fund spokeswoman Susan Murdy told the San Francisco Business Times. “It was his decision.”

For what it worth, he was strong supporter for a Federal Charter. It may be that the other senior officers had a different viewpoint.

I don’t think he went anywhere yet.
The Federal Charter issue would be way down the list of reasons.
The steps toward melding parts of Allianz and FFIC together in numerous ways is an issue for long time P&C (Joe) and long time Life (Chuck)leaders and there were some conflicts on how to do that and to what degree.
The culture of FFIC and the developing combined companies caused significant friction.
The loss of a signficant business unit to a strong competitor in the two weeks preceding Joe’s departure likely caused friction.

What was the significant business unit that was lost to a competitor?

Joe was one of the few leaders who knew how to communicate. Staff here are lost, sort of adrift….
