Given the way they shafted their policyholders and pushed wind claims off on the National Flood Program, of course they’re financially strong.

    But despicable nonetheless.

    Rocketman,

It seems that these two, like AJ, have a propensity to condemn State Farm prior to a legal determination of guilt for the actions which temblor sited. I don’t quite know “temblors” beef with State Farm, but I believe “LL” is an independent agent is is probably jealous because he is unable to offer State Farm to his customers.

LL, please forgive me if I am mistaken.

Mark: Did you forget? State Farm has been found to be in BAD FAITH on these claims. We ain’t making it up!! They just settled another one at the courthouse steps. These are the actions of a party that did no wrong? Take the blinders off Mark!!! Admit the truth.

If they settled it, they weren’t found in BAD FAITH, now were they. There’s another one of your assumptions.

I’m not saying they have never acted in bad faith, but then again your constant condemnation of everything they say or do is just as unethical, in my opinion.

Several different cases. The latest was settled due to prior history of bad faith in similar cases. Why will you not admit the truth. State Farm acted in bad faith (found to be in bad faith in court) and continues to attempt to shirk their responsibilities to insureds.

Who Closed more Claims out of the K mess?

    State Farm

Which company paid out the largest amount for K mess ?

    State Farm

Which company is still #1 in the Hearts and Mind’s of the public ?

State Farm ratings may have gone up some but the executives are still doing all of the same old things. One of the latest is they (State Farm) have been found to have breached the contract of their own agents. This is case #C050591 from the California Third Appellate District and is final as the Calif. Supreme Court denied State Farm’s appeal. Now if State Farm won’t honor their own agents contracts what hope is there for a regular policyholder? Also State Farm has not even notified all State Farm Agents of this decision although it was final about April of 2007.

What part of State Farm has been adjudicated to be in BAD FAITH do you not understand? So the 30,000 they have not settled should be happy? You are a joke!!! If 30,000 have been sent re-open letters, then you might need to adjust your settlement % figures. You are a joke!!!

but State Farm Has to Pay for Wind Damage ESPECIALLY when there is proof. So please don’t act like they are so generous in doing us a favor.
It’s like PEEING ON YOUR LEG AND TELLING YOU IT’S ONLY WATER.
FACT: Katrina Winds were 100-200 MPH AND HIT LAND 1 TO 4 HRS BEFORE THE WATER…
Hell it blew the roof off the Superdome in New Orleans and whiped out major cities from LA to MS. True to Form, they waited for their Best Friend to arrive, Mr. Water and they blamed all of the damage on the water. Refusing to pay for wind by blaming the water. Shame on all involved with his crime against your fellow American. No wonder other countries don’t trust us. Look what’s done to one another. It’s wrong.
    FEMA SHOULD SELL HURRICANE INS.
WIND AND WATER DAMAGES ALL IN ONE POLICY.

I don’t have personal dealings with SF. It just seems that our carriers’ HO3 are better; my enclosure was paid RC, and if I had a policy from SF, I would be offered ACV, according to another report. To pay more for a lessor policy is insane.
And I take customers from SF every day.
    Thanks.
(Although given that SF homeowners policies in FL cost about $10000 each, it must be nice to receive those commission checks.)

State Farm, Allstate and USAA all said they give homeowners an opportunity to fix problems but added that in the most severe cases, customers could be denied coverage if they don’t comply.

“What do you do if that property’s not yours? If they’re demanding a 200-foot clearance, what if you own only 150 feet beyond your house?” said Karen Reimus, a San Diego attorney whose home burned in 2003.

With claims from Hurricane Katrina largely resolved, State Farm Fire & Casualty Co. saw profits climb 65 percent last year to $5.3 billion, while Allstate raked in profits of $5 billion.

The companies are the nation’s first- and second-largest property-casualty insurers, respectively.

An industry analyst said the inspections fit into the larger shift by insurers away from catastrophe-prone areas after the devastating 2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons.

“The hurricane seasons were huge, huge wake-up calls in terms of insurers realizing that they did not understand the risks that they had put on their books,” said Donald Light, a senior analyst with Boston-based Celent. “Many insurers have been doing a lot of things to readjust that balance, and wildfires are a part of that picture.”

I challenge you to dig out your dusty auto
insurance policy and try to make heads or tails out of it. I have spoken to
a number of legal professionals who have worked for the insurance companies
and they can’t even explain them. Who protects us from fraud by insurance
companies? I was originally told that the role of the Office of the
Insurance Commissioner was to serve as a consumer protection agency, but I
have found that they’ve become nothing more that the type of political
bureaucracy that they were formed to protect us against. The National
Association of Insurance Agents certainly did not want to hear from me!
President George W. Bush singe the Sarbanes-Oxley Act on July 30, 2002.
This law was aimed at prosecuting fraud in Corporations, but the problem is
lack of enforcement. Who is at your back door? A well paid insurance
lobbyist? There can be no effective control of corporations while they remain
politically active through lobbyists that distribute their cash. I can promise you this. I will not give up.

Safeguard us from betrayal! Money, the donor with rank. A protected
agency with no honorable dispute. Teddy Roosevelt was the first to coin the phrase
“muckrakers”. I just want to know who really is working for the people.
    Are our senators and representatives
    about money.

just a consumer working to get our voices .. Do you all hear??

During deposition of the Mississippi Deputy Commissioner of Insurance (June 7 2007) it was disclosed State Farm Insurance was paying his legal fees. During the deposition the State Farm attorney repededly advised the Deputy Commissioner not to answer the question. Does anyone else see a problem here?
