Great idea. What’s not so great is the companies offering the program. FI clients demand and deserve a high level of service and agents need to be compensated fairly.
Hey, John, if you’re looking for fair compensation, these two carriers are the very last place you’d ever want to look. Both of these companies made their way on the backs of independent agents, and both of them have been putting knives between our shoulder blades for years.
Trouble is, we’re like kudzu. We’re growing fast, we’re everywhere, and we just won’t die.
Why do agent concentrate on commission, what about other insurance company services, like Insurance Centers, Brochure Support and National Advertising.
A few comments:
There’s lots of advertising in these emails, companies send notices about who they’ve hired, etc. Gets posted on a slow news day.
Regarding Hartford & agents: Hartford is paying 18% commish on property, 15% on GL and auto, pretty standard for middle market biz. If you’re agency is good you’ll get supplemental on that. Marketing is pretty good for the FI program, maybe you are not in touch with the right people at the company.
As for Progressive, I’m not a big fan but they are pretty significant in the FI industry, however all we hear about is auto.
great news (kidding of course) these two
companies deserve each other they should
get all the illegals to become agents that way they can pay 2% and spend more
on their tv adds
A person has got to eat. It’s nice that they advertise – that might bring customers to the door. Service costs money and people don’t work for free. And, if it isn’t competitive, who cares about brochures and advertising?
I find it hard to see how this is “news” and not “Advertising”
Did they pay for this?

Why work with 2 companies “partnering” when you can one-stop shop with other quality carriers that write all lines?
I didn’t mean my comments to be a reply to John Q and FL agent, but here it is again:

Ditto … State Farm sells any and every product a small business might need.
