Joseph Ziegler has been named chief operating officer for Lockton Affinity, a specialty insurance program administrator for associations, franchises and affinity groups. In his new role, Ziegler is responsible for the daily operations of the firm, including sales, marketing, client solutions, underwriting, accounting, claims and program management. Lockton Affinity is affiliated with Lockton, the world’s largest privately-held independent insurance broker.
Ziegler succeeds Marianne Sears who will continue with the firm as executive vice president of operations. Sears has been with Lockton for over 20 years and will continue to oversee information technology, rating and processing.
Ziegler began his Lockton career 10 years ago as an entry-level technical services administrator, handling an array of duties for clients. He developed expertise in professional liability, especially in medical malpractice coverage, serving in a series of client leadership roles for the firm. Ziegler most recently worked with clients to design and market their programs as vice president-program executive for Lockton Affinity. He holds designations for Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the CPCU Society.
